The driver that hit a teenager and fled the scene on Thursday, Dec. 15, in Dearborn has been charged with a one-year misdemeanor.

A 23-year-old Detroit man is facing several charges after police said he tortured and sexually assaulted his 22-year-old girlfriend.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a threat directed at the Detroit Lions Academy, according to the Wayne County prosecutor.

DETROIT – A Detroit man has been charged in connection with the assault and torture of his pregnant girlfriend, according to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s office. Billy Ray Cromer, 30, has been charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm, torture and felonious assault. Officials said the incident occurred on Friday at 8 p.m. in the 8830 block of Rosemont Avenue in Detroit. Cromer is accused of going to the home he shared with his girlfriend and violently physically assaulting her. He is accused of grabbing her by the neck, choking her, and repeatedly punching her in the stomach and head.

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A 68-year-old Wyandotte woman has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run that happened during a Downriver Black Lives Matter protest in June. The incident happened on June 16 at 7:20 p.m. in the 23300 block of Goddard Road. A 45-year-old Van Buren Township woman was injured. When Jones' vehicle was close to the protesters, it is reported that Jones drove through the protesters striking a Van Buren Township woman. The Van Buren Township woman received non-life-threatening injuries and received medical attention at the scene.

ECORSE, Mich. – On Friday, 34-year-old Ecorse resident, James Edward Gibson, was charged with first degree child abuse. At the time the abuse happened Gibson was living with both the child’s twin brother Zyaire Reed and mother Lisa Marie Reed. Zyaire Reed died and Zion Reed survived. “There is simply not much that prepares you for the allegations in this case for 13-month-old twin Zion Reed. The 34-year-old mother has also been charged with first degree child abuse in connection to the surviving child’s case.
