Officials say that the Detroit Police Department wants help from the community regarding an aggravated assault.

DETROIT – Police are searching for three men wanted in connection with a carjacking and separate shooting that happened in the 24500 block of West Eight Mile Road in Detroit on the city’s west side. Police say after being shot the victim stumbled a short distance through the parking lot and collapsed on the ground. Then the shooter returned to the Dodge Charger while the second armed carjacker ran east through the parking lot to an unknown area. Police describe the first carjacker as a Black man wearing a mask, all black clothing and armed with an AK-47. DETROIT – A Detroit father and a young man have been charged in a high-speed crash that took the life a 2-year-old child and critically injured two other kids. Michael Lipscomb Jr., 29, has been charged with second-degree murder, reckless driving causing death, and three counts of child abuse because prosecutors said his three children were in the backseat of his car. Jeffery Roberts, 20, has been charged with second-degree murder, reckless driving causing death and three counts of reckless driving causing serious impairment. Detroit police said Lipscomb and Roberts were drag racing when they crashed. Prosecutors said Lipscomb had his kids in the car when he was speeding on West Eight Mile Road and Cherrylawn Street in Detroit.

LYON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – West Eight Mile Road was temporarily closed west of Chubb Road on Wednesday morning due to a crash involving two vehicles, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. One person was extricated from a vehicle, according to officials. It’s unclear how serious injuries are. Police are investigating the accident. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and avoid the area.
