Police released video of a confrontation that led to the firing of a Westland Police Department officer and an investigation by the prosecutors office. Officers were trying to arrest a man with autism who was suspected to be connected to an armed robbery. While the incident and the officers firing happened months ago, Westland police said they released the video from the arrest in order to be transparent while the investigation continues. Police dash camera footage shows the officer chasing the man with his weapon drawn. Jones-Moody is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony and one felony firearm violation. She’s being held in lieu of $75,000 bail and has to wear a GPS tether if released. He is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail and will have to wear a GPS tether if released. All three are scheduled to return to 18th District Court on June 18 for a probable cause conference.
