LANSING, Mich. – Officials have charged a 14th person in connection with the alleged domestic terror plot targeting Michigan Gov. Brian Higgins, 51, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, is charged with material support of an act of terrorism, a 20-year felony. He is the eighth man to be charged by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office. The previous seven men charged by Nessel -- Paul Bellar, Shawn Fix, Eric Molitor, Michael Null, William Null, Pete Musico and Joseph Morrison -- have been linked a domestic terror group called the Wolverine Watchmen. They also surveilled her northern Michigan vacation home, experimented with homemade explosives and trained with firearms and tactical gear, according to court records.

Gretchen Whitmer wanted to leave her on a boat in the middle of Lake Michigan after kidnapping her, an FBI agent testified. Adam Fox, 34, of Grand Rapids, was one of five Michigan men in court Tuesday on charges that they conspired to kidnap the governor. Trask was asked why the men had been inspecting a boat ramp while plotting to kidnap Whitmer. “To be able to get a boat and take the governor out on the boat, leaving the area,” Trask said. Fox stated his plan or his idea was to take her out on the boat and leave her out in the middle of Lake Michigan,” Trask said.

Gretchen Whitmer actually signed up, trained and plotted ways to shoot and kill her, according to FBI testimony. FBI agents said Garbin is a member of the Wolverine Watchmen domestic terror group who was recruited into the plot against Whitmer. His Hartland home was raided by FBI agents as part of the investigation, testimony revealed. Harris held a meeting at his home to confirm the identities of everyone involved in the larger kidnapping plot, FBI officials said. Harris was pushing forward to try to kill Whitmer, according to testimony.

NBC News looked into the six men directly charged with conspiring to kidnap Whitmer -- Adam Fox, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, Brandon Caserta and Barry Croft. Croft was seen wearing the insignia of the Three Percenters, an armed anti-government movement, among other online warning signs, according to NBC News. Others in the group facing charges had anti-government memes and posts on social media before they were deleted, according to NBC News.
