The Wilderness Trail Fire that burned an estimated 2,400 acres in Northern Michigan is now contained, according to Michigan DNR.

As a fire risk remains high in Michigan, the state has announced that beaches and roads will reopen Tuesday in areas impacted by the Wilderness Trail Fire.

Fire crews from Michigan and Wisconsin continued to battle the wildfire that erupted in Northern Michigan over the weekend.
