A third murder charge has been filed against a Harper Woods man after his mother died from several stab wounds.

More than a week ago, a violent incident that rocked a Harper Woods neighborhood and destroyed a family keeps worsening. Jonathan Welch, 23, was let out on bond and accused of torturing his girlfriend.

Officials said a Harper Woods man, who days earlier had been released on bail and ordered to live at his mother’s house, stabbed his mom several times with a butcher’s knife and murdered his girlfriend and stepfather with blunt force.
