Nessel sent a letter to the MSU Board of Trustees Wednesday and requested access to the 6,000 documents. “You will have shut the door on the pursuit of justice,” Nessel said in the letter. Klages was convicted of lying to a police officer in the Nassar investigation and sentenced to 90 days jail.

The university announced Thursday night that the women’s basketball season is over, after some serious claims against the program. “Emotional abuse, physical abuse in terms of going way over the allotted hours the NCAA provides. The allegations were made by parents of the 14 players on the team, saying the problem is with first-year coach Ann Marie Gilbert. We have talked with all players and members of our women’s basketball program about their concerns.

After her son Wyatt nearly lost his life to child abuse, Hammel started campaigning for a child abuse registry. It's been years of effort, but on Thursday the Michigan Senate passed legislation to create the registry. Hammel said she tried to investigate the background of the abuser, who had previous convictions of child abuse. WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Michigan’s Judicial Tenure Commission is pushing several judicial misconduct charges against Wayne County Circuit Judge Tracy Green, who is accused of trying to cover up evidence that her son, Gary Davis-Headd, was abusing his children. “I still stand before you and say that she’s a fair jurist and fair person,” said Attorney Lillian Diallo. Diallo has practiced in front of Green and is the Vice President of Wayne County’s Criminal Defense Bar Association. The dozen-page complaint claims that Green’s two grandchildren told her on numerous occasions of the abuse they were experiencing. ECORSE, Mich. – Lisa Marie Reed faced a judge in-person Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to her charges of second degree murder and first degree child abuse. The 34-year-old mother had twin 13-month-old boys, Zyaire and Zion Reed. Reed is charged with second degree murder and first degree child abuse after Zyaire died. She is also charge with first degree child abuse for Zion’s injuries. He was charged with first degree murder for Zyaire’s death and two counts of first degree child abuse for the twins.

ECORSE, Mich. – James Edward Gibson and Lisa Marie Reed were charged with murder Friday in connection with the death of 13-month-old Zyaire Reed. Gibson and Reed are currently facing first degree child abuse charges in connection with the surviving twin, Zion Michael Reed. “The evidence in this case will show that Zyaire Reed suffered abuse for almost half of his very young life. “The alleged facts of this case left seasoned prosecutors shaking their heads and vowing to seek justice for him.”Gibson was charged with first degree murder and first degree child abuse. One 13-month-old boy was killed and his twin brother was severely injured on Tuesday after alleged physical abuse from their mother and her boyfriend. At about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Ecorse police responded to a report of child abuse at the family’s home in the 3900 block of 7th Street. Lisa Marie Reed was charged Thursday with first-degree child abuse in connection with her son Zion. Charges are still pending against her regarding the death of her other son Zyaire, officials said.

SAGINAW, Mich. The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force announced the arrest of Saginaw resident Jason Conrad Forster, 42, for possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime. Forster was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated after officials learned Forster was in possession of child sexually abusive materials. Following a forensic examination of the digital evidence, Forster was charged with four counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive materials and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Forster was arraigned in the 70th District Court on Thursday.

DETROIT Detroit police announced they had made an arrest just hours after video of an elderly man being beaten in a Metro Detroit nursing home had surfaced. But the disturbing assault continues for almost another minute, until the elderly man begins to bleed. The nursing home, Westwood Nursing Home in northwest Detroit, told police today they had not seen the video. What our investigations is revealed so far that the nursing home was going to wherever an assault until they saw a video. Detroit police were able to quickly arrest the 20-year-old man who was being held on complaints of some degree of assault and battery.
