DETROIT – Police have taken four people into custody on Wednesday afternoon following a barricaded gunman situation that occurred on Detroit’s east side. Detroit police say four people were inside a home with a barricaded gunman in the area of Wilshire Drive and Newport Street, near Outer Drive and Chalmers Street on Dec. 16. The situation has resolved as of 4:18 p.m. Wednesday, officials say. The four individuals inside the home have been taken into custody for questioning, police said. No additional details have been provided at this time.

DETROIT – Three people have been killed in a crash early Monday morning in eastbound lanes of I-94 at Chalmers Street in Detroit. The crash happened before 2 a.m. According to Michigan State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Camaro was speeding when it hit a Mercury SUV. The Camaro had a 39-year-old man behind wheel and a 38-year-old woman passenger. State police report excessive speed and alcohol are contributing factors in this crash.

DETROIT – Michigan State Police are investigating a suspected freeway shooting reported early Thursday morning along I-94 on Detroit’s east side. Police said about 2:45 a.m. troopers were called to westbound I-94 near Chalmers Street for a shooting. A driver told troopers he was on westbound I-94 when someone in a black SUV started shooting at him. State police shut down westbound I-94 at Moross Road. DETROIT – A 33-year-old woman was killed Saturday afternoon her vehicle was struck by a stolen car on Detroit’s east side. According to police, the crash happened at about 4:45 p.m. on Chalmers Street, near near Seymour Street, just east of Gratiot Avenue. Police said an 18-year-old man was driving a stolen red Dodge Challenger and struck a black Chevrolet Trailblazer at a high rate of speed.
