Albers says a lot of her patients have expressed feelings of guilt about skipping family gatherings this year. “We create a lot of scenarios in our minds about how the holidays are going to play out, and sometimes we create the worst case scenarios,” Albers said.

WASHINGTON The University of Notre Dame has become the second university to withdraw as the host of one of this fall's three scheduled presidential debates amid the coronavirus pandemic. The first debate will now be hosted by Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates announced Monday. The commission has selected Cleveland Clinic as its health adviser for all three presidential debates and the one scheduled vice presidential debate. John Jenkins said the university made this difficult decision because the necessary health precautions would have greatly diminished the educational value of hosting the debate on our campus.The University of Michigan was scheduled to host the second presidential debate but withdrew last month.

The woman who donated the uterus might be long gone, but a baby girl born from the donated organ is alive and well. For the first time in U.S. history, a mother who received a womb transplant from a dead donor gave birth to a healthy baby. The Cleveland Clinic said their trial specifically uses the organ of a deceased donor, to eliminate risk to any healthy living donor. She gave birth via cesarean section in June after a successful pregnancy. We are grateful to the donor and her family, their generosity allowed our patients dream to come true and a new baby to be born, Tzakis said.
