Raised in the kitchen, Nemo was making sushi rolls before he was five years old, and recently took up baking after watching videos on YouTube. “This was the first season that parents get onto the show and react,” said Nemo. Aside from the title of Kids Baking Champion, the winner of the Kids Baking Championship will take home a grand prize of $25,000 and will get a spot in Food Network Magazine.

In order to welcome more diverse voices to its lineup, the festival is offering a $20 submission fee discount for BIPOC filmmakers -- the same discount it offers its alumni. According to its website, AAFF seeks films and videos that “demonstrate a high regard for the moving image as an experimental art form, no matter the genre." Work must have been completed within the last three years, and works in progress are juried in the same pool as other entries. Feature submissions are $70 per film and shorts submissions are $60 per film.
