According to the researchers, their suicidal risk level is determined using a combination of risk factors. AdWhile other suicide screening tools exist, King said many high risk young people slip through the cracks, and in some cases, some adolescents rank as โfalse positivesโ for suicide risk. The computerized screening tool predicted suicide risk with 88% accuracy when tested on two cohorts of adolescents ages 12-17 who visited emergency departments. Additionally, emergency departments recently reported that visits related to youth suicide risk and self-harm have doubled.

ANN ARBOR โ The first shipment of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine arrived at four hospitals within the Mercy Health and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System on Thursday, including St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and Mercy Health Saint Maryโs in Grand Rapids and Mercy Health Muskegon. Mercy Health Muskegon received 1,950 doses while the other three hospitals received 975. All hospitals within Trinity Health Michigan have ultra-cold freezers capable of storing the vaccines. Hospitals and medical centers were initially overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients when the pandemic hit in Michigan in March, which led people to avoid seeking care unrelated to COVID-19. Emergency centers remain open and most selective operations have resumed at medical centers across Michigan. Some states are reporting an increase of around 40,000 COVID-19 cases in just the last week. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer moved some counties into โhigh riskโ categories due to recent spikes in COVID-19 cases.
