They said they’d rather be in their own beds, but have spent the last two weeks in a hotel after their home was targeted in multiple hate crimes. DETROIT – Ronald Wyatt, 22, pleaded guilty Wednesday to intentionally threatening physical harm to a Taylor woman to obstruct her free exercise of religion. The Department of Justice said Wyatt admitted he targeted the woman because her race. “Although the First Amendment protects free speech, it doesn’t give anyone the right to obstruct the free exercise of religious beliefs by threatening violence or bodily harm. Prosecuting those who violate the civil rights of Michigan citizens is some of the most important work we do. This plea today is the first step towards justice for this innocent victim.”Wyatt faces up to a year in prison.

A Macomb County family and their home came under attack Wednesday night. The safety of the Hall family home in Warren was shattered at about 10 p.m. Wednesday. Outside, the couple found the tires slashed on Hall’s work truck, on Sparks-Hall’s car, and on their son’s car he received for graduating. DETROIT Devon Robinson, 19, was sentenced Tuesday in connection with a triple-homicide that occurred in 2019. Robinson was charged with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder and five counts of the use of a firearm in connection with a felony. Prosecutors also alleged Robinson shot and wounded two additional victims who have survived their injuries. At the time of arraignment, a representative for the Wayne County Prosecutors Office said the killer targeted the three victims strictly on their being part of the LGBTQ community.Robinson was convicted as charged and sentenced Tuesday to three terms of life in prison without parole for first degree murder, 10 to 20 years for each count of assault with intent to murder and two years consecutively for felony firearm.
