DETROIT – Today’s high temperature of 44 degrees (6.5 degrees Celsius) sure felt good, right? You see, a cold front crossed the area around that time and, within two-to-three hours, temperatures had plummeted into the mid 30s (1 to 2 degrees Celsius), and that’s pretty much where we’ve been all day. Lows in the low 20s (-6 degrees Celsius), with a west wind at 10 to 15 mph. Temperatures may initially drop into the mid-to-upper 20s (-3 to -2 degrees Celsius), but then rise to near 30 degrees (-1 degrees Celsius) by dawn Wednesday. Lows near 30 degrees (-1 degrees Celsius).

Highs near 30 degrees (-1 degree Celsius). Becoming partly cloudy for part of our Saturday night, with lows near 20 degrees (-7 degrees Celsius). Detroit Metropolitan Airport officially reached a high of 71 degrees (21.5 degrees Celsius), which broke our old November 7th record of 70 degrees (21 degrees Celsius), set 104 years ago way back in 1916. Mostly sunny and warm once again on Monday, with highs in the low 70s (22 degrees Celsius). We likely won’t break Monday’s record high of 75 degrees (24 degrees Celsius), set in 1999. Temperatures will initially drop into the mid 50s (13 degrees Celsius) and hold steady, then perhaps slip into the upper 40s (9 degrees Celsius) by dawn. Thursday through Saturday all look dry, with varying amounts of sunshine and highs generally in the low 50s (11 degrees Celsius).

DETROIT – It’s like getting a bonus summer weekend! Highs in the 80s will stay with us through Sunday, but prepare for a big cool down next week. With high temperatures touching or topping 80 both weekend days, it will feel like we never left summer. And we continue to lose ground on the thermometer each day: highs in the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by 50s for Thursday through next weekend. DETROIT – Clear skies, light wind and dry air overhead once again mean that it is a perfect night for radiational cooling -- a very efficient process where we lose our daytime surface heat to its maximum potential overnight. We saw this process in all its glory Friday night, and Metro Airport’s Saturday morning low of 38 degrees (3.5 degrees Celsius) tied our record low set in 1982. Saturday night lows will range from near or a little above 40 degrees (5 degrees Celsius) in our Urban Heat Island, to mid-to-upper 30s (1 to 4 degrees Celsius) in areas away from the city and inland from the Great Lakes. The Week AheadThe upcoming week will be a spectacular week of Pure Michigan fall weather! We’ll start the new work week with highs Monday approaching 70 degrees (21 degrees Celsius), and then warm into the mid to upper 70s (23 to 26 degrees Celsius) for the rest of the week.

DETROIT – It will be mostly sunny on Saturday with highs in the low 60s, but with much lighter wind, so it’ll be a pleasant fall afternoon even if the high is well below our average high of 73 degrees (22.5 degrees Celsius). Then Saturday night it will be clear with lows in the middle 40s (5 to 7 degrees Celsius). On Sunday it will be mostly sunny, and a tad warmer with highs in the middle 60s (18 degrees Celsius). You can expect it to be clear Sunday night with lows in the middle 40s (7 degrees Celsius).

DETROIT Sunday will be partly sunny and not as humid. You can expect scattered showers with highs in the low 80s this afternoon. Afternoon temperatures will be in the low 80s with comfortable humidity Monday. Tuesday becomes hotter, again, with blue skies and daytime temperatures reaching the middle and upper 80s. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible each day.

DETROIT Sunday afternoon will be warm with comfortable humidity. Highs will reach the low 80s. They remain warm with seasonable humidity. Daytime temperatures reach the low 80s Monday. Heat indices rise to the middle and upper 90s by the end of this week.

Mostly Dry WeekOther than a slight shower chance Wednesday, most of us will be dry until thunderstorms arrive on Father's Day. To be fair, Metro didn't get soaked with last week's storms where many locations picked up more than an inch of rain. But by the time that Sunday rain chance rolls around, it will be more than welcome.

Saturday afternoon will be mostly sunny and beautiful. Highs will be in the upper 60s. Up to 2 inches of rain from Sunday morning to Monday morning are possible. Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly sunny with daytime temps near 70 degrees. Thursday will be mostly sunny and warm with afternoon temps near 75 degrees.
