It’s perfect weather for a steaming hot cup of hot chocolate and a bakery in Plymouth has marshmallows that are a national food award finalist to pair with it. The Blu Kitchen in Plymouth originally started as a place to find delicious macaroons, inspired by owner Adina St. John’s desire to recreate the treat her husband enjoyed during a business trip to France. Now, The Blu Kitchen offers various flavors of macaroons, hot chocolate mixes, and homemade marshmallows that are a top five finalist in The Good Food Award. The bakery’s vanilla flavored marshmallows were one out of 3,000 entries across the country,Watch the video above to hear more about The Blu Kitchen and their sweets.

This week’s Try It Out Tuesday had us finding new ways to enjoy an iconic holiday candy that you may have a lot of around the house right now. Kila Peeples found a couple of ways to upcycle candy canes, by including them in her favorite morning drink. She found recipes to make homemade coffee creamer and syrup using crushed candy canes. Not only did Kila have fun preparing the candy canes (crushing them was a great stress reliever), but making the syrup and creamer wasn’t as hard as she thought it would be. Hot chocolate bombs are the new popular way to enjoy the sweet drink. It’s a hollow chocolate ball filled with hot chocolate mix and marshmallows or even flavored instant coffee.
