Marvin L. Winans with Perfecting Church in Detroit is known nationwide for his music and preaching. Tomorrow we are going to march from Woodward and Martin Luther King Boulevard to the Hart Plaza, Winans said. Winans said the march is scheduled at about noon and end in downtown Detroit. Winans said the march will happen at the same time as the virtual March in Washington D.C. with Rev. It will celebrate the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his I Have A Dream speech.

DETROIT Police are searching for 61-year-old Anthony Hardnett who was last seen a few months ago in March. He has not returned to his home located in the 10000 block of Harper in Detroit since then. Hardnett is described as light skinned, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, slim, brown eyes, salt and pepper short hair with a mustache. He has health issues. DETROIT Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. held the Walk to Freedom 57 years ago in Detroit and gave what would become the precursor to his I Have A Dream speech. The Walk to Freedom ended at Cobo Arena, where Dr. King delivered a powerful speech -- a precursor to his famous I Have A Dream speech two months later in Washington. DETROIT A large group of protesters took over a freeway in Downtown Detroit on Saturday evening, the second day of demonstration following the killing of George Floyd. An organized protest began around 5 p.m. in Detroit on Saturday and marched through Corktown and Southwest Detroit. After the organize march ended, many protestors continued into Downtown Detroit and eventually onto I-375. Michigan State Police were urging protesters to leave the freeway. The group exited the freeway just after 9 p.m. and continued to move into Downtown Detroit.
