ECORSE, Mich. – The mayor of Ecorse was re-elected this week and he’s already having to fight for his job. During a city council meeting on Wednesday night, one council member called for Mayor Lamar Tidwell to be removed from office. Mayor pro tem Darcel Brown raised two big issues that he said he was made aware of in an affidavit just a month ago. The Ecorse Public Safety Department is under an FBI public corruption probe. The FBI is strongly hinting that criminal charges could come from how Ecorse police officers handled stolen vehicles.

DETROIT The City of Detroit and the Detroit Pistons announced the launch of an enhanced eight-week Pistons Neighbors Program beginning July 29 that will provide free programming for children and families at Adams Butzel Recreation Complex, Clark Park, Palmer Park, Pingree Park and Jayne Field/Lasky Recreation Center in Detroit. The five city parks will host safe and socially distanced programming for all ages. Funding for the programming is being provided by the William Davidson Foundation, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, and the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons Neighbors Program builds on the six-week program at Bennett and Rouge parks in the summer of 2019 and reaffirms the Detroit Pistons commitments to Detroits parks. The mayor of a Michigan college town is apologizing after saying she would support the appointment of a human relations commissioner only because she would be crucified" if she voted against a black person. Beth Bashert's comments were made Tuesday during a Ypsilanti City Council meeting that was held through video conference. Bashert, who is white, was the only council member to vote in favor of Gaines, the Detroit Free Press reported. WARREN, Mich. Amondeuz Graham was on his way to get gardening supplies when he saw a confrontation between a Warren police officer and an Amazon driver. He stopped to record it, what his cellphone video shows is the middle of the confrontation, not what started it. On the video you see the White officer with the Amazon driver, who is Black, on the ground. The policy of the warren police department and the training provided to every officer is to deescalate every situation. Dwyer also confirms there is audio and video from the officers camera from start to finish of the confrontation.

WARREN, Mich. Police opened an Internal Affairs investigation after a confrontation between a white police officer and a black deliver driver. New dashcam video was released Wednesday by the Warren Police Department. Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer is standing by his officers and is recommending felony charges for the delivery driver. Originally, it was thought the only thing that was done wrong was the Amazon vehicle being improperly parked, but Warren police said thats not the case. The driver was charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer, failure to obey a lawful command and failure to produce a drivers license.

WARREN, Mich. Newly released police dashcam video is shedding new light into the arrest of an Amazon delivery driver in Warren. The cellphone video of the Amazon driver being violently arrested by police as he was making a delivery went viral on social media, but Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said theres more going on. It's the video sparking outrage all over social media showing an amazon driver being manhandled by the cops after making a delivery. The officer had a legal reason to contact the driver as he was parked illegally, Dwyer said. Amazon released the following statement:
