There are currently 1,000 players in the transfer portal with more to come. “I predicted 2,000 at beginning of the year,” said Greg Kampe, head coach of Oakland University men’s basketball team. Kampe and his staff are constantly checking the NCAA transfer portal. You’re going to see a new kids every year, and really, you’re gonna have to cheer for your school,” he said.

She started refereeing when she was 17 to make some extra money, but now it’s her dream job and she’s breaking down barriers. There are currently five full-time women as referees in the NBA and two others who are not on staff during this season. Schroeder said women empowering women and supporting each other is how to break into male-dominated worlds. “I want my daughter to think her mom is strong enough to break barriers and do whatever she has to do,” Schroeder said.

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Officials notified the public Wednesday of a sexual assault reported on the campus of Oakland University. According to notice from the Oakland University Police Department, on Wednesday a female student reported that a male non-student sexually assaulted her on the campus at about 5 p.m. on November 13. The man reportedly assaulted the student in his vehicle in the P-5 parking lot on the northwest side of campus, police said. Our program involves men who go into the schools and we mentor young men, he explained. There were five young men between the ages of 13 and 20 that decided to take his life. DETROIT Wayne State and Oakland University will join the likes of Harvard, MIT and the University of Michigan in a fight to keep international students from being deported. The White House said if colleges dont reopen, international students will have to finish their studies online from their home countries. Rather than letting their international students be deported if schools to go a 100 percent online learning model -- they are figuring out how to make courses with the minimum bar of accommodation to keep those students visas safe. Yue Zhuo, an international student from China, left her home country to become an educator at Oakland University. She wouldnt be able to go back to China to continue her work online because of government censorship.
