CANTON, Mich. – Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that happened Sunday morning around 7:15 a.m. in the area of Michigan Avenue and Schooner Road. It took place after a man was crossing the eastbound lanes of Michigan Avenue at Schooner Road from the south side to the north side. That is when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle which stopped and remained at the scene. The man was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ypsilanti where he died of his injuries. Canton police say speed, alcohol and distracted driving do not appear to be factors in the crash.

LONDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. State Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed two women pedestrians in southeastern Michigan. The crash occurred about 4 p.m. on Friday in London Township, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) south of Ann Arbor. State Police posted on Twitter that the victims were a 29-year-old woman from Whitaker and a 25-year-old woman from Ypsilanti. DETROIT – A 5-year-old girl is in critical condition after she was hit by an SUV in Detroit on Monday. Police said the girl was with her family at a liquor store near Plymouth and Evergreen roads. They were leaving the store about 5 p.m. when the girl ran into the street and was struck. The 76-year-old driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

DETROIT – A man hit a pedestrian and another vehicle Wednesday after fleeing an attempted traffic stop in Detroit, police said. Police said officers tried to stop a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze in the area of W. McNichols Road and St. Marys Street at about 2:30 p.m. Instead, they canvassed the area, and found him near W. McNichols Road and Mansfield Street, where he hit a pedestrian and other vehicle. The 21-year-old man driving the other vehicle and 36-year-old pedestrian were also taken to a hospital. OAK PARK, Mich. – Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in Oak Park on Tuesday night. It happened at 8 Mile Road and Coolidge Highway. Police said the driver was heading south, turning right on 8 Mile Road when they struck and killed a young man. The driver pulled their vehicle into a nearby gas station and stayed to speak with police officers.

MONROE, Mich. – A pedestrian died Friday after they were hit by a vehicle in Monroe. Police said the victim was hit at the intersection of M-50 and Winston Drive. First reponders administered medical treatment to the victim at the scene and transported them to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The victim’s name is not being released until family is notified.
