DETROIT – A 20-year-old man accused of reckless driving was charged Monday in the death of a 9-year-old Detroit boy who was struck while riding an all-terrain vehicle. Daveon Hardiman of Roseville was driving in the wrong direction and over the speed limit Saturday when he struck the ATV, authorities said. SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Two Oak Park High School students were killed and four others were injured in a crash on Friday. Police said four people were thrown out of the vehicle in the crash that happened on Telegraph Road near 10 Mile Road in Southfield. DETROIT Two people have been charged following the death of a 48-year-old man who was killed in a car crash on Friday. The man was struck by a 19-year-old driver who was fleeing Detroit police. Officers identified the suspects vehicle traveling south on West Outer Drive near Plymouth Road. The 48-year-old man driving the Honda Odyssey was transported to the hospital following the crash, where he was pronounced dead. On Monday Stringer was charged with second-degree murder, first- and second-degree fleeing and eluding, reckless driving causing death and reckless driving causing serious impairment of bodily function.

The video was posted by the Instagram account, Detroit Drift City. It shows a young driving approaching what appears to be a Detroit police squad car to have a few words. Then it shows the driver doing donuts on Jefferson Avenue in front of the Great Lakes Water Authority for 30 seconds. Later, an edited video appears to show three boys in the car chasing after what is presumably the same two squad cars.

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – A speeding driver hit a Detroit police car before crashing into a Hamtramck building Monday. Police said the driver hit the officer’s car and continued onto a brick building near Caniff Street and Joseph Campau Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. The Detroit officer was passing through the city. The officer and driver were both taken to a hospital. The speeding driver is still being treated and is listed as stable.

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police clocked a driver traveling 110 mph over the speed limit on I-75 in Monroe County earlier this month. The driver was pulled over at about 11:45 p.m. April 19 for driving 180 mph in a 70 mph zone on southbound I-75 near Sigler Road in Berlin Township. DETROIT – Detroit police busted street racers Friday night, issuing more than 30 tickets for violations of coronavirus (COVID-19) social distancing rules. Police said they received multiple complaints about people street racing, drifting and driving recklessly in the area of I-96 and Warren Avenue on the city’s west side. WYANDOTTE, Mich. – Wyandotte police clocked a man driving 104 mph in a 30 mph zone April 13. An officer stopped the man on on Biddle Avenue, near Plum Street, around 8 p.m.Police said the officer smelled alcohol coming from the 71-year-old Grosse Ile man’s vehicle. The man told the officer he had two drinks. The man failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. The man blew .12 and .13 on a breathalyzer test during booking, police said.

TROY, Mich. – A Harper Woods woman has been charged with waving a gun at another driver during a road rage incident in Oakland County, police said. Troy police were called at 6:11 p.m. Friday to southbound I-75 north of West Big Beaver Road. A driver told them he had been involved in a traffic altercation with the driver of a tan 2015 Kia Optima, officials said. At one point during the exchange, the woman flashed a gun at him out her window, according to authorities. Monea Smith, 30, of Harper Woods, had also contacted police about the altercation, officials said.
