The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued new guidance when it comes to kids and summer camps.

You can now sign up your K-8th-grader for virtual summer camp at U-M's Museum of Natural History.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Have a young artist in the family? Registration for in-person summer camps at Ann Arbor Art Center will open on Wednesday, February 24. Five-day summer camps will take place from July 12 to August 27. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, camps will be limited to 10 people, including art center staff and camp volunteers, according to the art center’s camp website. DEARBORN Dearborns historical Henry Ford Museum is experiencing financial woes due to the coronavirus pandemic. In March when the first coronavirus cases in Michigan were announced the museum temporarily closed. The museum previously canceled its 2020 Summer Camps and announced temporary layoffs in April in response to the pandemic. The museum recently launched a fundraising effort called Reactivate the Henry Ford. To learn more about the fundraising effort visit the museums website.

DETROIT – With many traditional summer camps choosing to stay closed this season, parents have another option to consider, virtual summer camps. She knows there are some great virtual camp offerings but wants to make sure parents are helping their children get enough physical activity. At the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, which runs some of the regions largest overnight camps, preparations were already underway to reopen day camps by June 22 and overnight camps by the middle of July. Those who have registered for outdoor pools and day camps will be receive a full refund.
