Attorneys for the Oxford High School shooter filed a motion to withdraw his guilty plea in the deadly school shooting.

Detroit police are searching for a missing 16-year-old named Kayla King who was last seen at around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

DETROIT – New information suggests the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is safe and strongly protective in kids as young as 12. Pfizer said the data from a late-stage trial shows the vaccine is highly effective in adolescents. The company said there were 18 COVID cases in the placebo group and zero cases in the vaccine group and no significant side effects -- an efficacy rate of 100%. Infectious disease experts believe vaccinating children will ultimately be necessary to stop the pandemic. “By the fall, I think there’s a good possibility we’ll be vaccinating teenagers 12 and up,” said Dr. Peter Hotez.

CLAWSON, Mich. – A 15-year-old girl has died after being shot Sunday inside at home in Clawson, police said. Police said the teen was shot by her 45-year-old stepfather. Officers found the teenaged girl, who allegedly had been shot by her stepfather, police said. Police also said a neighbor, who was trying to help the teen girl, was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital. “I believe, to my knowledge, there was a lady who lived next to me, she was shot in the knee,” Henahan said.

DETROIT – Police are searching for a 15-year-old boy named Lamar McGaughy Jr. who was last seen Monday at around 3 p.m. in the area of Woodward Avenue and Alexandrine Street. McGaughy Jr. is described as light skinned, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds with short braided hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and dark gray jogging pants with gray and orange Nike Air Max gym shoes. The teen has bipolar disorder. Read more: Missing in Michigan reports

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Police said a 16-year-old girl from Detroit is in a hospital after being shot in Southfield. Southfield police responded to reports of a shooting on Friday at 2:50 a.m. in the area of 8 Mile Road and Lahser Road. Officers found a 16-year-old Detroit girl in the back seat of the vehicle who was bleeding. Police said the investigation revealed that the girl had been shot by a known subject. Police said the girl is in stable condition at an area hospital.

BAGLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police are investigating a Bagley Township single vehicle crash that happened around 2:56 a.m. Sunday and sent people to the hospital. The vehicle had seven people inside ranging in age between 17 to 19. “The forward momentum was stopped after striking another embankment where the vehicle rolled over,” a statement from MSP on the crash read. MSP added that speeding was a contributing factor to the crash which is still being investigated.

DETROIT – Police are seeking the public’s help in locating 15-year-old Harmony Lawson. Detroit police said Harmony was last seen at about 5:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Gladstone. She is described as about 5 feet 4 inches tall, 160 pounds, dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair with a long braid, and wearing black glasses. She was last seen wearing a Northface shirt and green pants. TAYLOR, Mich. – Taylor police are searching for a missing 15-year-old girl named Gloria Maria Alvarado. The teen was last seen inside her home bedroom on Filmore Street in Taylor at around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 1. Update Jan. 14: Teen missing since November found safe, Taylor police sayPolice say the teen’s cell phone was left behind. Family members believe she might have disappeared wearing white and pink Air Jordan sneakers. Alvarado is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 168 pounds.

DETROIT – A teen was shot and injured while playing basketball on Detroit’s west side Friday evening, police say. According to police, the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday near Smart and McDonald. The teen was playing basketball with friends when a man walked up to the group and opened fire. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in temporary serious condition. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-800-Speak-Up.

OAK PARK, Mich. – A 12-year-old boy was fatally shot on Monday at around 12:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of Saratoga in Oak Park. According to investigators there was gunplay involving juveniles at the home which led up to the shooting. Police say the juveniles were playing with a gun they found inside the home. As of now police have a 15-year-old in custody. DETROIT – Police are searching for Dasjanae Hagwood, a 14-year-old girl was last seen Tuesday in the 19000 block of Houghton Street, just north of Seven Mile Road. Hagwood is 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – A four mile run in honor of a Grosse Pointe Park teen who was killed last year is being held virtually because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Finn It Four Miler is raising money for charities that were close to Finn Huston’s heart. Last year, the transgender teen was riding his bike when he was hit and killed. The Grosse Point Park teen was riding his bike home after work when he was hit by a car. The image is now the symbol of the Finn It 4 Miler which will be held on Oct. 10.

WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 16-year-old girl is dead after jumping off of a pontoon boat while it was still moving Monday on Mandon Lake in White Lake Township, police said. Police said the teen was on her friend’s boat when she jumped off the back while it was still moving. Family members have identified her as Nicole Shoup. Although police believe Shoup jumped off the boat, family members say there is no way she would have done that while the boat was moving. DETROIT Police are searching for a missing 16-year-old boy named Jeremiah Holliday who was last seen Friday, Aug. 14 around 6:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of Helen in Detroit. He is described as Black, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs 157 pounds, has a medium brown complexion, short brown dreaded twist hairstyle, shaved sides, brown eyes and green braces. PONTIAC, Mich. A suburban Detroit judge who sent a 15-year-old girl to a juvenile detention facility for not doing her homework released the teen from probation on Tuesday, after an appeals court ordered her release. The girl was placed on probation in April in a case involving allegations of assault and theft, and had been in Oakland Countys Childrens Village since May for violating that probation, according to ProPublica. Brennan said a Michigan Court of Appeals decision July 31 ordering Graces release from Childrens Village effectively tied the lower courts hands. Among the requirements of her probation, Grace was expected to complete her schoolwork. Brennan initially cited a failure to submit to any schoolwork and getting up for school for her decision to place the teen in juvenile detention.

DETROIT On Friday, the emergency motion for immediate release was granted for a 15-year-old known as Grace by the Michigan Court of Appeals. The Michigan teen had been detained for not completing her online homework, a condition of her parole. Even celebrities called for the teens release. Democratic Michigan Congressman, Andy Levin, who first called on the court to review the case after the story broke sent a statement on her release. In the interim, they are both extremely and deeply appreciative of the outpouring of support from around the country, and for Graces release; she is anxious to be with her family.Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Dingell Tweeted on the teens release.

The model for Ceasefire Youth Initiative is men stand up, boys sit down, explained the non-profit CEO Reggie Reg Davis. Our program involves men who go into the schools and we mentor young men, he explained. There were five young men between the ages of 13 and 20 that decided to take his life. He is described as a black male, 5 foot, 7 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, medium brown complexion, dark hair, dark brown. TRENTON, Mich. April Hall just wants her daughter to come home and will never stop looking for her. Hall says her daughter, Amaria, was the type of person who had the ability to learn anything. Amaria Hall was last seen a year ago July 7 at her familys home in the 2100 block of King Road in Trenton. Pew said she has not reached out to anyone, and if she is OK, they hope she lets someone know. April Hall is holding a tribute to her daughter Tuesday beginning 6 p.m. at Trenton City Hall Courtyard on West Road before Jefferson.

DETROIT A 14-year-old boy was found fatally shot Wednesday morning at a home in the 12000 block of Metettal Street in Detroit. Detroit police said one person has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. A gun was recovered from the home. DETROIT Police are searching for a missing 14-year-old named Kamarius Hodges. Hodges was last seen Thursday, June 11 at around 3:30 p.m. at his home located in the 11000 block of Littlefield. He ran away and has not been seen or heard from since then. Police have have not shared a physical description of him. SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Southfield Police Department is searching for 13-year-old, Samara Duplessis. Duplessis was last seen by family members on Thursday while taking the garbage out at her Southfield home. She is described as black with a medium complexion, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs around 110 pounds. Police say she disappeared in a grey and pink hoodie, black leggings, and black Ugg boots.
