According to new research, Michigan residents expressed more hatred for this year than Americans in any other state -- particularly on Twitter. Tech company Someka Excel Solutions reportedly tracked more than 900,000 tweets containing negative comments about 2020, rifling through hashtags and keywords like “I hate 2020,” “2020 is the worst” and “horrible year,” officials said. Using geotagging data from Twitter, Someka identified which states the most negative sentiments were tweeted from -- and Michigan was number one. LANSING, Mich. – President Donald Trump went after Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Twitter Wednesday. Trump relished Michigan Supreme Court’s ruling to strike down Whitmer’s Emergency Orders. The president retweeted a post about the governor losing at the Michigan Supreme Court by calling it great news for the people of Michigan and also overstates auto company expansion. Since the ruling, counties and municipalities have issued their own orders reinstating most of Whitmer’s original orders for their jurisdictions. Big Ten members University of Michigan and Michigan State University could be excluded from the next football season, according to a tweet posted by U.S. President Donald Trump. Had a very productive conversation with Kevin Warren, Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, about immediately starting up Big Ten football, Trump tweeted last week. A court filing disclosed on Aug. 31 showed that Big Ten Conference presidents voted 11-3 to postpone the football season due to the pandemic. Trumps tweet on Sunday also comes a days after the Michigan High School School Athletic Association (MHSAA) reinstated football and other high school sports.
