GROSSE POINTE SHORES, Mich. – A local attorney who was recently ticketed for his Black Lives Matter sign now has a new set of problems. While the ticket was thrown out, Todd Perkins is dealing with hate mail being sent to his home. Inside the letter sent to his Grosse Pointe Shores home was a poem full of racial slurs and signage designed to be a jab at his Black Lives Matter sign in the front yard. Why do people think that Black Lives Suck,” said Perkins. There was a return address on the hate mail sent to Perkins.

Workers at the Pfizer manufacturing facility in Portage filled boxes of the first authorized COVID-19 vaccine through the night into Sunday morning. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan has risen to 430,780 as of Saturday, including 10,662 deaths, state officials report. The state crossed the 10,000 mark in total deaths earlier this week. Officials no longer provide updates on statewide coronavirus data on Sundays. The next data update is expected Monday afternoon.

DETROIT – With freezing temperatures on the way Father Tim McCabe with the Pope Francis Center says he has found a solution to helping the homeless though a pandemic. The solution includes the lower level of the TCF Center. But if the numbers continue to grow more adjustments will have to be made. But if we continue to see the numbers that we’re seeing, we’ll have to rotate them through,” McCabe added. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan has risen to 216,804 as of Monday, including 7,640 deaths, state officials report.

DETROIT – Students at Greenfield Union Elementary-Middle School went weeks without one of their favorite school activities which include reading. “The manager at one of the Lowes stores just randomly sent me an email. LINCOLN PARK, Mich. – There is brand new information about a Lincoln Park neighborhood shooting that happened on Moran near Fort Street. Police spent hours in the neighborhood looking for any type of evidence they could find. Lincoln Park police were on scene combing the area for evidence and found a shell casing on the ground. Investigators are saying this is quite possibly a domestic incident claiming that the victim and the shooter either knew each other or were relatives. To make matters worse, the shooting happened right around the corner from a school.

BRUCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Macomb County police have released video footage of a fight involving multiple men with dangerous weapons. There was an Escalade, a black Dodge Ram and a blue Ford with a white trailer,” said Malinczak. It did some massive damage to the trailer,” Malinczak recalled. I mean it was lit up like a Christmas tree in the parking lot,” added MalinczakFive people were arrested. “You see the front end damage on it.

DETROIT – It has been called Sunday Funday. However, the Detroit Police Department is saying drifters are causing serious problems. DETROIT Three people were shot Sunday night including a father, a 9-year-old and 10-year-old girl on Plainview Avenue near 7 Mile and Evergreen roads. I truly dont get it, said Terrance Nelson, father of the 9-year-old who was shot. DETROIT – If you are planning to head downtown this weekend there are major construction projects that could cause delays. Eastbound I-94 between I-75 and Gratiot Avenue will be closed while crews work to tear down the East Grand Boulevard bridge. Due to the size and complexity of removing the overpass, eastbound and westbound I-94 are scheduled to be closed the following weekend, Feb. 21-24, to complete the demolition process.
