'Winter Blast' returns to Royal Oak

Winter Blast runs February 2-4 in downtown Royal Oak

For this weeks “Music Monday” on “Live in the D” we’re getting you ready for a popular winter event happening in Downtown Royal Oak. The Winter Blast presented by Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort kicks off this weekend, and in edition to ice skating, food trucks and more, the event will feature 40 local musical acts.

Winter Blast Royal Oak presented by the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort will return next year.

Metro Detroit’s annual Winter Blast event has moved to Royal Oak this year, and it’s kicking off this Friday!

Winter is coming, and in Royal Oak, the timing is absolutely perfect.

The Winter Blast has moved from Detroit to Royal Oak.

Winter Blast will look different this year because it’s in a new city.

Winter Blast is returning in February 2022 with a new home, name and logo.

DETROIT – Winter Blast Weekend organizers announced that the 2021 event has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. The event has been held in Downtown Detroit for the past 16 years. The coronavirus pandemic has led to many events being canceled or postponed. Winter Blast is focusing on programming for 2022. “The health and safety of our guests, sponsors and stakeholders is our top priority and we hope for positive developments in treatments or a vaccine that will hopefully allow larger special events to happen later in 2021,” Witz said.
