DETROIT – Bridge work is set to close a portion of I-94 in Detroit for the weekend.
Both directions of I-94 will close between I-75 and Gratiot Avenue (M-3) starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19. Crews will be setting bridge beams at the Burns Street overpass above I-94, weather permitting, officials said.

Nearby entrance ramps to eastbound and westbound I-94 will close at 9 p.m. Friday. This section of the freeway is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22.
During the closure, traffic will be rerouted the following ways:
- Westbound I-94 traffic will be redirected to southbound Gratiot Avenue, to the westbound Gratiot Connector, then northbound I-75 and back to westbound I-94.
- Eastbound I-94 traffic will be redirected to southbound I-75, to the eastbound Gratiot Connector, to northbound Gratiot Avenue, then to eastbound 8 Mile Road and back to eastbound I-94.
