TAYLOR, Mich. – A Shelby Township man was killed after he lost control of his truck and crashed into a retaining wall, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 11 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. The driver, a 43-year-old Shelby Township man, was driving a GMC truck on westbound I-94 and exited at Telegraph Road.
Police said the driver was speeding and unable to negotiate the curve at the bottom of the ramp. The truck drove off the road to the right, through a drainage ditch, and continued westbound across all lanes of Telegraph Road.
After crossing all the lanes of Telegraph Road, the truck crashed into and through the retaining wall. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The family has been notified.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
