Stretch of M-53 in Macomb County to be closed for several months

Van Dyke Freeway (M-53) to see closures

The northbound lanes of Van Dyke Freeway will be closed for bridge and road work.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A stretch of M-53 will be closed for about three months in Macomb County.

According to MDOT, the northbound lanes of the Van Dyke Freeway will be closed between 18 Mile Road and M-59 for bridge and roadwork. Traffic will be detoured to Mound Road.

There will also be bridge work on M-53 at Utica, 19 Mile and Canal roads.

Clinton River Road will remain closed until late August.
