What we know: 2 drivers hospitalized after crash at major Canton Township intersection

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two drivers were taken to the hospital after a crash at a major intersection in Canton Township.

The crash happened around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at the intersection of Ford and Sheldon roads.

Officials said a 61-year-old Canton Township woman and a 33-year-old Van Buren Township woman collided at the intersection.

They were both taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. Specific information about their conditions was not disclosed.

Police said there were no passengers inside either car.

Crash scene investigators don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. They continue to investigate.

What we don’t know

It’s unclear what exactly caused the crash and who was the at-fault driver.

We also don’t know what type of injuries were suffered by the two drivers.
