I-275 ramp closures begin Monday -- what to know

M-14/I-96 Project causes major traffic detours

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich.The M-14/I-96 project is progressing to the next phase, causing ramp closures at the M-14/I-96 interchange with I-275.

Starting Monday, April 28, the northbound I-275 ramp to eastbound I-96 will be closed. It is expected to reopen in late June.

Drivers will be detoured east on I-696, south on M-10 to M-39 and I-96.

The eastbound I-96 exit to Newburgh Road will also close Monday through late June. Drivers will be detoured to Farmington Road.

Additionally, eastbound Schoolcraft Road will be down to one lane at Newburgh Road and the crossover bridges west of Newburgh Road will be closed.

The southbound I-275 ramp to eastbound I-96 will be closed for six hours Monday, April 28, and will reopen at about 3 p.m.
