No description found

UTICA, Mich. – A $60 million reconstruction project on Hall Road in Macomb County is set to begin on March 1.

The project will include work on 3.7 miles of Hall Road from M-53 (Van Dyke expressway) to Romeo Plank Road. The work is expected to be completed in October 2018, and will take place between the spring and October for two years.

Work will be done from M-53 and Garfield Road in 2017 and from Garfield Road to Romeo Plank Road in 2018.

Sterling Heights, Utica, Clinton Township, Macomb Township and Shelby Township will be affected by the construction.

The first year of work will include replacing the concrete with asphalt, improving drainage, filling in sidewalk gaps and upgrading sidewalks and ramps to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Aesthetic improvements are also planned, including new traffic signals, signs and enhanced landscaping.

The second year will involve continuing work to Romeo Plank Road, as well as an addition of a fourth lane from Garfield Road to Romeo Plank Road.

Businesses will always have access during construction, though entryways may be changed. Pedestrians will also have access.

Work will be done day and night.

Three lanes will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily in each direction between east of M-53 and Romeo Plank Road except for on the M-59 bridge over M-53. The bridge will have only two lanes open in each direction from March through midsummer 2017.
