DETROIT – The John C. Lodge Freeway (M-10) is scheduled to close overnight in Detroit to set beams for the Martin Luther King Jr. bridge.
Crews will work on the beams of the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard overpass above M-10.

The Lodge will be closed between I-75 and I-94 while crews work to place the beams and reconstruct the bridge over the freeway. The bridge is being rebuilt as part of a $13.5 million project that includes widening the southbound exit to Grand River Avenue.
Traffic impact
Southbound M-10 will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. The eastbound and westbound ramps to southbound M-10 will be closed. The Forest Avenue ramp to southbound M-10 will also be closed.
Northbound M-10 will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. The southbound I-75, Temple Street and Bagley Avenue ramps to M-10 will also be closed.
The project is expected to be completed in December.
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be closed between Gibson and 4th streets through December. The southbound M-10 service drive from Seldon Street to Grand River Avenue will be closed through December. The northbound M-10 service drive from Peterboro Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will also be closed through December.
Detours
Northbound M-10 will be detoured via northbound I-75 and westbound I-94.
Southbound M-10 will be detoured via westbound I-94, eastbound I-94 and northbound I-75 to southbound M-10.
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be detoured via Grand River Avenue, the I-75 service drive and Woodward Avenue to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
