Nonprofit lifts community by helping families

Towana Parker, founder of Destiny and Purpose Community Outreach, has been assisting people in Southeast Michigan for 28 years through various programs for all age groups. The nonprofit, supported by grants, sponsors, and volunteers, has acquired 2.8 acres to shelter homeless women, children, and veterans.
