Concerns rise in Michigan over federal budget cuts, impact on Medicaid, SNAP

Concerns over how the federal budget battle and the push to cut government waste could significantly impact the lives of Michiganders are brewing. This, as some lawmakers stress, Medicaid and Social Security are not going away. In Michigan, more than 2.6 million people rely on Medicaid, and 1.4 million rely on the supplemental nutrition assistance program or Snap for food assistance. And of those, more than 400,000 are children. On Tuesday (March 11), a group of concerned Michiganders united, hoping those in Washington would hear their concerns.
