Michigan reports five measles cases as outbreak concerns grow

Health officials in the U.S. are on high alert as measles cases rise, with over 700 confirmed across 24 states, including five in Michigan. The outbreak is linked to travel, with the latest case being a one-year-old girl in Ingham County who may have exposed others after contracting the virus out of state. In Michigan, cases are unrelated and each infected individual had traveled outside the state. Despite high vaccination efficacy, measles remains a concern, particularly as Ontario reports a significant outbreak with low local vaccination rates contributing to the spread.
