More measles cases surge across Michigan amid travel links

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, along with school districts, are emphasizing the importance of vaccination as measles cases rise, with seven confirmed cases in Michigan and a larger outbreak in Ontario. Many cases are linked to travel, particularly to Ontario, which has reported 816 cases this season due to low vaccination rates. The MMR vaccine is crucial, with schools enforcing a policy that excludes unvaccinated students for at least 21 days if a measles case is detected, highlighting the need for a 95% vaccination rate for herd immunity.
