Eastern Market cancels Detroit Lions tailgating event following fatal shooting
Eastern Market has canceled its tailgating event for the Detroit Lions game on September 30 out of respect for the victims of a fatal shooting on September 15. The incident, which occurred after a Lions game, resulted in two deaths following an altercation where one man from Oak Park was arrested. In response, Eastern Market is collaborating with city officials and the Detroit Police Department to enhance safety measures and aims to establish the area as a weapon-free zone. The tailgating tradition will resume after implementing significant security protocols.
