‘Serial child rapist’ denied bond in murder, abuse case of 13-year-old Detroit girl

Jarvis Butts, a 41-year-old man from Highland Park, has been denied bond and faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree premeditated murder, for the death of 13-year-old Na’Ziyah Harris, whose body has not been recovered. Authorities allege Butts, a habitual offender with a history of sexual abuse, had been abusing Harris since 2022 and impregnated her before killing her in January.
