Detroiters raise concerns over upcoming DDOT plans
Mayor Mike Duggan has proposed a $20 million increase in funding for DDOT, aiming to enhance bus services by adding 45 buses, 63 drivers, and 24 mechanics, increasing daily operations from 178 to 220 buses. While DDOT Executive Director Robert Cramer supports the proposal as sustainable and beneficial, Transportation Riders United, represented by Joel Batterman, believes an additional $16 million is necessary for significant improvements such as increased service frequency and better bus shelters.
