TSA urges travelers to prepare for new ID requirements by May 7
With the Real ID compliance deadline just a week away, many travelers are preparing for the new identification requirements necessary for domestic flights within the U.S. Beginning next Wednesday, a Real ID, identifiable by a star in a gold circle, is required, though passports and enhanced IDs are also acceptable. Approximately 80 percent of travelers already have compliant IDs, but those without may face enhanced screening and potential delays. The TSA advises travelers to be prepared and use passports temporarily if needed.
