Man sentenced for high-end Metro Detroit burglaries
Ignacio Antonio Ruiz-Saldias, a 29-year-old Chilean, was sentenced to 10-20 years for his involvement in a series of high-end home burglaries across Metro Detroit. Convicted of operating a criminal enterprise and conspiracy to commit home invasion, he is linked to a South American theft group targeting affluent neighborhoods in Oakland, Wayne, and Kent counties, stealing cash, jewelry, and handbags. The burglaries occurred in February 2023, using advanced methods to bypass security systems, and Ruiz-Saldias was arrested in Indiana a month later.
