National Weather Service cuts questioned after Texas flooding

The Trump administration dismissed criticism regarding budget cuts at the National Weather Service after severe flooding in Central Texas, refuting claims that the cuts led to underestimating rainfall. The massive flood was caused by the Guadalupe River rising over 20 feet in 45 minutes, resulting in at least 81 deaths, primarily in Kerr County. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with first responders utilizing various resources, including high-tech equipment and military vehicles, to search for missing persons, including a group from Camp Mystic.
