$1M grant helps Detroit Community Group tackle blight removal

Detroit Blight Busters, with the aid of a $1 million grant from the State of Michigan, has launched a large-scale clean-up initiative in Northwest Detroit's Old Redford area. This effort, involving community volunteers and local youth employment, focuses on removing blight, trimming overgrown brush, and cleaning vacant properties. The grant enables the nonprofit to enhance its long-standing mission of beautifying neighborhoods and improving living conditions, supported by local government officials. Residents are encouraged to report issues via the Improve Detroit app, fostering community involvement in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
