New ballot proposal for public education -- What to know

The education budget for Michigan schools remain in Limbo. Lawmakers in the State House failed to pass a school aid budget by the July 1 deadline, meaning lawmakers now have until Oct. 1 to try and get it done along with a general fund budget. In the meantime, a coalition believes it can get more money for public schools at the ballot box, but it’s already getting a lot of pushback.
