5) Gabriel's Hoagie Shop
Serving "Great People, Great Food" since 1959, Gabriel's Hoagie Shop says it specializes in cheesesteak hoagies and gives you the biggest and best bang for your buck.
With three locations throughout southeast Michigan, Gabriel's Hoagie Shops says it uses thinly sliced ribeye steak, American and provolone cheeses, mushrooms, onions and red-crushed cherry peppers for its hoagies.
Voters like Tommy say you can't get a better Philly Cheese Steak this side of Philadelphia.
"My dad took me to Gabriel's when I was a kid and I have been loving them ever since," said one voter. "Now I have my husband addicted to the hoagies, too. We try steak hoagies everywhere we visit, but we always find ourselves comparing them to Gabriel's."

4) Lefty's Cheesesteak Hoagies
Lefty's Cheesesteak Hoagies says it offers the best specialty cheesesteak hoagies at its grill on Six and Middlebelt in Livonia.
James, who voted in this year's contest, agrees calling them better than ever, even more than those served in south Philadelphia.
"The wait staff, Brenda and Tamara, are the best, most hospitable ever," said James. "[They] make the sandwiches 1,000 times better than they already are."

3) Stacked Deli
Coming in third on the list of best sandwich shops around Detroit is Stacked Deli in Birmingham, Michigan.
Stacked Deli says it offers a fresh style of having food, serving Sy Ginsberg Jewish style corned beef and only offers the best in beef products.
"A great New York style deli right here in Michigan," said Colleen on our contest page.

2) 'Wiches
Founded in 2009 by a group of local entrepreneurs, 'Wiches places second on the list of best sandwich shops around Detroit.
'Wiches offers a variety of different signature sandwiches on its menu, including Porky's Revenge, with house smoked pull pork and apple barbecue sauce, and Chickthenian, topped with chicken, hummus, cucumber and more.
"Whenever I meet my girlfriend for lunch, we always meet here," said voter Mike. "Their homemade soups really hit the spot. She's a soup-snob, too!"

1) Ernie's Market
Placing first on the list of best sandwiches in and around Detroit is Ernie's Market. The sandwich shop has won numerous times before in our Vote 4 The Best contest as well.
Ernie Hassan of Ernie's Market has been serving sandwiches to the Oak Park area and beyond for over four decades, according to the sandwich shop. Customers say Ernie will add "a little love" all types of the store's sandwich styles, including vegan and vegetarian.
"It is not just a huge, great sandwich. It's the quality human experience that you get when walking into Ernie's. Highly recommended," says one voter.
Mark says "You cannot beat the service, taste, quality, atmosphere, or overall awesomeness of Ernie's."
