Joe Muer Seafood

Located right in the heart of Detroit is Joe Muer Seafood.  The restaurant says it continues a tradition of dining and service like that of the old Muer's, which began in 1929.

Named 2012 Restaurant of the Year by Hour Detroit, the seafood restaurant says its new store is inspired by classic 1960s retro era decor, finest service and freshest seafood in the Detroit area.

"I love the new menu items as much as the classics that only Joe Muer was known for," said Michelle.

O'Brien's Crabhouse

Independently owned and operated, O'Brien's Crabhouse in Auburn Hills says it specializes in traditional east coast seafood.

Located only five minutes from the Palace of Auburn Hills, Oakland University and Meadowbrook Theater, O'Brien's Crabhouse says it celebrates 18 years of service and considers its restaurant a "place of hospitality."

However, it's not just the seafood that has Local 4 viewers talking.

"Known for its seafood, but surprisingly has one of the best burgers around," said Wendy.

Mitchell's Fish Market Seafood Restaurant & Bar

On the list of best restaurants offering seafood is Mitchell's Fish Market Seafood Restaurant and Bar in Birmingham, Michigan.

Mitchell's says its restaurants throughout southeast Michigan serves up more than 80 seafood choices on its ever changing menu.

"One of my all time favorite places," said Renee, who voted in this year's contest. "It doesn't get any better than here."

Topping the list of best seafood restaurants is Joe's Crab Shack in Lake Orion, Michigan.

With locations throughout the country, Joe's Crab Shack says it offers a variety of menu items on its list, from buckets of crab to classic steampots.  Voters say they enjoy the service, fresh food and overall atmosphere of the restaurant.
