Local 4 viewers pick best cover bands playing across Metro Detroit

DETROIT – Rock on!  If it's classic Motown or rock hits you enjoy listening to, there are plenty of cover bands playing in the Detroit area that sound almost like the original band, according to listeners.

Voters have chosen what they believe to be the best cover bands in Detroit.

Gettin-Lucky

A classic/new rock cover band, Gettin-Lucky tops the list of best Detroit cover bands and is most recommended by voters.

Gettin-Lucky says they are a five piece band with female and male vocals.  Their song list includes songs from the 1960s up to today's new rock.

The cover band says they are a collective, collaborative effort which pulls together musical talents and experience that spans the decades.

"These guys are the band to watch in the big D," said Dottie, who voted in this year's contest. "They do all types of music-custom sets for the event. They rock, they have soul, funk whatever: Totally a monster band."

Marlboro Adams

Placing second on the list of best cover bands in Detroit is Marlboro Adams, recommended over 50 times in this year's Vote 4 The Best contest.

For over five years, Marlboro Adams says it has crafted its catalog of over 100 songs to suit the needs of its listeners.

"Great music and excellent musicians, Marlboro Adams rocks it every time," said Jessica.

"They have a great mix of song at every event and they sound amazing," said Cassie. "They are, by far, the best cover band I have seen."

The Bombsquad

Together for over 12 years with no member changes, The Bombsquad places third on the list of best cover bands in Detroit.

The band says they have performed the national anthem for the Detroit Tigers twice and have played at every casino and numerous festivals on both sides of the border.

Whether it's tunes by Earth, Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Parliament Funkadellic, classic Motown or R&B, The Bombsquad has something in store for everyone.

"I have seen them live on several occasions and was blown away every time," said Kelly. "Every act I've seen, the musical arrangement was different."
