DETROIT – Looking for a great dining experience while tasting the best tacos, burritos, salsa and chips in Detroit?

Voters have chosen their favorite places to get Mexican food across southeast Michigan in this year's Vote 4 The Best contest.

Xochimilco

Located in Detroit's Mexicantown, Xochimilco (pronounced so-she-MIL-co) places first on the list of best places to get Mexican food in Detroit.

Customers who recommended the Mexican restaurant rave about Xochimilco's salsa and chips, mexican sandwich, flaming cheese and its customer service.

"Just love their food, especially the chicken chimichanga," said Michelle, who voted in this year's contest.

Burrito King

Placing second on the list of best places to get Mexican food is Burrito King in Novi, Michigan.

But don't let the name fool you.  Burrito King serves more than just burritos.  Voters enjoy this mexican restaurant's burritos, in addition to their chips and salsa, hard shell tacos with carnitas and whole beans, and mexican sandwiches.

Mexican Fiesta

Next on the list of best mexican in Detroit is Mexican Fiesta.  The restaurant says it has proudly served authentic Mexican food for Metro Detroit residents for over forty years.

With another location in Novi, Mexican Fiesta features a selection of items on its menu, including tacos, tostadas, fajitas, enchiladas and even shrimp stir-fry.

"Can never go wrong with Mexican Fiesta," said one voter on our Vote 4 The Best page. "Great chips and salsa, great food, great prices.  And they aren't skimpy on the portions."

"This is the only place I know with amazing deep-fried flour tacos," said Sara.

Mexican Village

Calling itself Detroit's oldest Mexican restaurant in Mexicantown, Mexican Village also places this year's list of best Mexican around Detroit.

Mexican Village says its specialties include Caldo Can-can, burritos, steaks and homemade desserts.  With a second location in Utica, voters like Susan say Mexican Village offers the best food, service and margaritas around.

"There is no better restaurant for mexican food in the Detroit area than Mexican Village," says another voter. "They not only have great food, the serving staff is top notch."
