DETROIT – A winter weather advisory has been issued for many areas of southeast Michigan.

The advisory is until 7 p.m. Sunday in Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland and St. Clair counties. The areas could see 1-3 inches of snow.
Counties in the Thumb region could see 6 inches of snow or more.

The winter weather advisory is in affect for the following counties:
- Bay
- Genesee
- Huron
- Lapeeer
- Livingston
- Macomb
- Midland
- Oakland
- Saginaw
- Sanilac
- Shiawassee
- St. Clair
- Tuscola
The city of St. Clair has declared a snow emergency, which goes into effect at 8 p.m. Saturday. Officials said while the snow emergency is in effect, parking on the city streets is prohibited until such a time that the snow and ice has been removed to allow for reasonable safe traffic movement and on-street parking.
