DETROIT – While most saw icy roads and freezing drizzle on Wednesday morning, the real main event is coming this weekend.
It's a storm the Local 4 Casters have been watching for about a week. The closer we get to the weekend, the more accurate the models become.
Here's the latest from Brandon Roux:
Friday is a dry day with low 20s early and mid 30s through the afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. Snow arrives Saturday.
We will see light to moderate by mid morning or midday Saturday and then snowy all day with 2-4" or slightly more in a few spots. Temps will be in the 20s with blustery conditions causing blowing snow too.
Sunday is dry but bone chilling single digits and teens with winds NNW 15-25 mph bringing a few heavy lake effect snow bands to parts of the state.
Monday is MLK Jr. Day and it will be very cold with a few flakes, but more sun than snow. A Tuesday snow maker looks to be a big one.
It's early, but model data is suggesting 6" or more coming to Metro Detroit Tuesday next week.
