DETROIT – Welcome to Sunday night, Motown!
Clouds continue to thicken Sunday evening and Sunday night. It becomes a bit slick on the roadways and driveways overnight, but it won’t be as cold as it has been the past several nights. Clouds remain, Monday, but the good news is that daytime temps will be well above freezing all week.
Sunday night will be cloudy and chilly. It remains above freezing with more melting before midnight. Afterward, the quilt of clouds will keep temperatures near 30°F overnight, Sunday night into Monday morning.
Some mist and drizzle are possible by dawn. Some streets will be slippery in spots for the Monday morning commute. Monday afternoon will be mainly gray, but temps rise far above freezing. Highs will be near 40 degrees or a bit more.
Tuesday will have clouds, also, with highs near 40 degrees, again.
We break 40°F on Wednesday with the help of some returning sunshine. Highs will be in the low 40s to near 45 degrees.
Remember, Detroit’s average high temperature is in the upper 40s this time of year. Thursday will become that mild, and a chance of rain showers comes along with it.
Friday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 30s.
